My musical interests started with dance and happy hard-core. After a brief excursion into Oasis and Snow Patrol. I was watching VH1 about bands changing lead singers and still touring. AC/DC came on performing 'back in black’. It was a life changing moment and a doorway int the world of rock. I give thanks to AC/DC. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have discovered all the other brilliant bands out there: Motorhead, Iron maiden, Metallica, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, and loads more.
I bought all AC/DC the albums. I turned it up as loud as it would go, shouting along with it. I needed help, no one else was listening to this-but didn’t give a shit I was loving it. Later discovering BON SCOTT was like finding yet another great AC/DC band. I had finally I found some music I that meant something to me.
I'd be on some form of karaoke every week screaming the house down like Brian Johnson.
Next thing, my friend asked me to sing at his wedding. ' Yeah sure, f#~k it why not. Should be a laugh'- thinking he was joking. No way- a suprise band turned up at the wedding. I was pissed, but not enough to stop me sweating and shaking when they got me up. I rocked my little heart out, and loved it.
Next thing Kris Perry, a local bassist says ' why dont you try for an AC/DC tribute band. The next day I get a text with a ACE/DC ‘s number. I grew a pair and rung the Ste (Angus). After an eight song audition I was in.
I think fate had something to do with this, I've been singing AC/DC karaoke for some time. People said I was good, but I didn’t believe them… Now I'm in ACE/DC. Same with Brian Johnson, he had success with Geordie. He thought at age, 29-30 (fateful coincidence- the same age as me) he'd be a plasterer or bricky. We both got the call and were destined to sing AC/DC music.
SO COME ALONG AND BE INSPIRED (By Fate and Destiny )
OR JUST ROCK OFF WITH YOUR SOCKS OFF.
