ACE/DC

50th Anniversary

Can't believe it's come up to gig number 50 at The Pub in Lancaster 29th August. We may a special suprise guest with us to celebrate.

Boiling Birkenhead

Another hot night. Chuff straight off the plane from a romantic Venice interlude. Cornetto in hand with freshly pastaed pipes from all that grand canal seronading he did both Bon and Brian justice. Ste D out on his drumming stag nite-such dedication to rock in someone so young and tender- . Maybe he has he turned a new page in his rock book of life... or will he make up for it at a later date with tumblers whisky ...Watch this space. Thanks to all our new friends and all you great AC/DC T shirt collectors. It's great to see that even though gigs like Birkehead is a famiar spot for us that we are still meeting new AC/DC fans. We luv talking to you ...if you can stand the smell of sweat. Hope to see you again at the next gig.

Knobs Out at Nags

We rocked with a compact but extremely enthusiastic audeience. Another great gig but a few more events to remember ...Angus lost his trusty guiar volume knob, cracked off a Cornford chicken neck pot knob and... not to be upstaged...Rusty had a first in a lifetime screw in public.. I mean to say his screw came out of the straplock and as his vintage precision bass careered in slo mo towards the unforgiving ground. Gravity is a wonderful thing often taken for granted but Rusty was frozen momentarily considering the destict disadvantages to the phenomena. Hurray though...the ever active chiffmeister stretched out a cool right hand to save the day and downpayment blues hardly lost a bar. Luv the way Rusty kept playing as the treasured instrument fell..a bit like a kamakaze bass pilot. What a pro!

Broke Another Northwich Stage

We broke it last time but it went in song one tonite! It was a sign of the mayhem to come - a great night had by all. Chuff's got some new birthday pressy vocal processor after his old faithful packed in at Hindley . He thankfully opted not to go with the Barry White effect and it was great. Angus Ste having some amp valve consternations though. Bought 2 new sets and can't quiite get that Cornford magic back-but it was a great nite with Rusty back as chief anchor man and lots of AC/DC vT shirts and new friends around.

Hot as Hell Hindley Hartke

Tremendously hot night in and out of the venue saw us all paddling in sweat.

Still, hell was no bad place to be.

After a slightly gasping and football ridden first half the band and audience reached

an exiting peak in part 2.

Unfortunately Rusty could not make it due to last minute family commitments.

All was not lost as tthe mighty SK -of Snatch Back, Swamp Stomper

and Mick Robson bands-stepped in.

A crash course saw him competently throbbing his way through the set

with his trusty Ibanez and Hartke rig. Photos on site

Sad to see our mature rocking pal Roy was not there.

We wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

Stainto-reviewer of gig number 1 showed up.

Congrats on his new born that has been quite rightly keeping him well entertained since our Morcambe gig.

Cheers D& Dave for your excellent hospitality.

Our "too old to die young" friend and our Rosie singer were welcome

AC/DC Irish ferry fan lept out of his sick bed for the occasion.

We need to work on that lad is who dislikes Bon and preferres Airborne

-still he got the good news in the end.

No Slow and Easy Fest but gig Confirmed 17th July

Unfortunately after we headlined the Saturday night, the Roebuckfest Thundersprint gig was closed by the police mid Sunday due to a battling audience. Well, I'm sure the Beatles would be amazed that "Luv me do" caused such excitement in the crowd- but look at what the Manson family got fromr "helter skelter". We feel for the organisers of this great charity event. It takes a lot of expense and hard work for worthy charities to be ruined by the minority...and don't think we blame the Beatles as theri tribute did not even have chance to play. End result is no Slow and Easy festival license . Good news though- ACE/DC will still appear 17th July at the Slow and Easy with a Rock disco . We'll try and not play any of that middle of the road music that gets the locals so angry. Looking forward to seeing the "big al band" crew again

Lots of photos recovered

A disaster averted. Lots of gig phots to go on and a few vids. . Watch this space-you could be a superstar on our website soon -or at least looking less ugly than us.

Sidebottom Sadness-You know it is, it really is

Although Angus-Ste admits to many significant infleunces on his art -it is little known that he and Rusty are secret Sidey fans Angus showed his final support at the sad but funnny unvailing of Franks papier mache mummy- during the Manchester Castlefields farewell to this bontempy super star. The well attended "show" implied he would do an encoure-but alas only Elvis came back from the grave. We had eagerly awaited a classic Frank version of "let there be rock" for several years but have to now be content with his de-dayo de nighto version of queens "bohemian rapsody" and falls "hit the north" . Our symapthy goes out to the grieving . He will be sadly missed as a stress relief to the pace of modern day life.

Big Ball at Lancs

A welcome return to "The Pub" Lancaster. Deb mnakes it compulsory to do "Big Balls" so we are happy to oblige. Made some new friends that had travelled a fair distance to see us. We're glad of the magic of tinternweb is doing its job of spreading what we do to new fans. A quieter than usual start finished the night with a packed singing crowd. 3 new Brian J songs got a good reception. We love the Bon era but nice to keep all AC/DC fans happy. The great AC/DC have picked up several generations of fans with a wide spread of albums over the years and we want to recreate that magic of the first time everyone saw or heard them by spreading the material. Not many singers could cover this range so we are very excited that Chuff is going for it so well.

ACE/DC Rock The RoebuckFest..on Video

Sex, Sweat and Snot says it all. What a festival, Click photo for You Tube Bad Boy video

ACE/DC Bad Boy Boogie ACE/DC Live Roebuckfest

Much more video and photos to come so stay tuned.

What a festival...what a nite... what a crowd!! Superb organisation...great PA + lights.. Worthy Charity....Thanks to our Northwich fans for making it mad and loaning the hat.

The gig was not without problems with Chuff suffering after illness but singing up a storm for the second night on the run... without monitors too.Three guitars going rapidly out of tune and valve sounds on two amps changing by the minute with the hot and cold "stage wind" temperature variations. Who cares...there were extreme technical and health difficulties but it was fantastic show from both on and off stage!!! Yet again a great audience made this the best tribute AC/DC show..."and there was light"

Northwich Non-Angus Appology

Well a great Roebuckfest always has it stories...Our fans were strolling up Nothwich main street after a pre gig pub warm up of the singing tubes. By chance they encountered Angus (Ste). In extreme excitement ( and knowing that Angus is always up for a party) they opted for close physical contact singing edited highlights from "Hell ain't no bad place" and "Rosie"...After several celebratory cans and deafening choruses down the Angus lughole someone noticed non Angus type body language from their "victim" (like going white and shaking). After closer drunken examination someone decided it was not in fact Ste!The mid street crowd then became annoyed warning the chap about the dangers of wasting their valuable party time parading the streets as bogus non authaurised tribute of a tribute ACE/DC Angus. They left the poor chap in deep shock, as rapidly as they had arrived. I think all was not lost as he was last seen trying to recapture the fame by buying some schoolboy gear.

Back in Macc at Last

At last a return to the Naggs. We've not been out for while...and a good job too. Chuff had colapsed with the flu. The two Ste's were bad too.At least we didn't have to cancel gigs! A Rough Chuff took full advantage and aired a few new Brian J tunes after a small boating lake of cider was drunk sensibly. What a night. Great crowd with lots of AC/DC T shirts (but sadly no schoolgirl uniforms this time). Tghank you all for turning out and making this a great event at a great venue. Thanks to those who travelled from the wilds of Liverpool, Bakewell and HAdfield to make this a memorable nite.

30th Anniversary Bon Special Set a Hindley Hit

The weekend was the sad 30th anniversary of Bon's passing. ACE/DC were determined to mark the event with something special Rusty so put together the last Newcastle set he performed in it's entirity. It was so good we needed to play yet another set after that to attempt to tire out the crowd.

We thank everyone for coming out for this special night. It's been a while since we played herebut this was definitly a record turnout. Lots of new friends and devoted AC/DC fans.

We love chatting about your AC/DC gig experiences. Particularly liked the "Angus plectrum on the Dublin ferry" and the "covered in Angus sweat while shaking Bon's hand in the Blackpool gig crowd" stories.

All you close up singsters and air guitarers were most welcome This made a truely fitting memorial party for Bon-the man who made our 70s and 80s.

We even saw a few faces that had travelled quite a distance. Someone prooved the healing properties of music by dragging themselves out of hospital to be there.

Heavy Nite at Northwich Collapses Stage

The duck walking and audience enthusastic participation took it's toll on the stage. Angus and Chuff needed to perform a little joinery and laminate floor laying mid song. Well worth the effort though for a great audience .Abbey is definitely making a go of this this new venue. We even saw some fans from Rudheath and Lancaster.Angus had bad guts but made it through the show thanks to the drummer in the audience who beat open the bog door for him . Sex , sweat and snot is OK but to add another activity may have been an S too far and a little too punk for this tribute project... There may be a summer festival here at the Slow and Easy so watch this space. Abbey put on the Thundersprint Roebuck fest in previous years so it will be guaranteed to be a great event ...watch this space

Warm Welcoming Wigan Gig a Great 2010 Start

Well the ice melted just in time so we could get the mirthe mobiles back on the road for the gig. Thanks everyone for a great night. To our new friends - great to chat, it would not be a party without you and that's why we do it. Nice to see our St. Helens friends from our early heady Haresfinch '70s gigs. We hope to see you all again soon and wish the Boulevard new management every succes in this important North West live music venue.

Rusty Updates Bass Rig

After much blood sweat and tears Rusty has finally settled on his dream rig. Angus knew him when he had a Wem dominator rattling his bedroom floor but he moved to a nice loud Sound City. The changes have been many with notable milestones of Trace Elliot and back to those luverly valves in Ampeg. Alas there were limitations so the 2010 winner is ......Click Rusty Rig here to see his gear and here for his updated Rusty Roots gig memoires, etc. You can be sure it's good stuff. He must have a good ear cause Angusy Ste is still greatful for him being the first to hear Cornford Amps . If it doesn;t work out though angus met a guy in his local who is selling a Wem again.

Black Ice hits Back in Macc Gig

"Shot down in flames" or what !! We were looking forward to starting 2010 with this fantatic venue. The ice age came again the week of the gig. Rusty's car skidded to break an axel the the Angus Saab packed in in simpathy. No problems (we thought) as we can access the Chuff mirthe mobile. Alas no ..that was burried by avalanche (what...in Bolton!!!...strange but true). Maybe "Hell ain't no bad place to be" or at least to "Get it hot" to melt the snow. We are gutted.. Sorry to everyone for missing the gig but be assured we'll be back in Macc for the next gig even if we need to get the gear there in a shopping trolley.

Great..ful Almost Dead

Return to Birkenhead

A greatful almost dead Angus (after the cat on the stairs accident) turned out with new powerage shirt and scarred haircut to a full house Swinging Arm. Grateful due to being alive- support and sympathy from an understanding Eric - and a packed house turnout. Couldn't swing a cat in there (yes Angus still likes cats). Suitably Chuff highlighted all the liric references AC/DC have to cats (there are a lot). He then donned a handsom Bon in Black waistcoat to bring the house down with our first Back in Black album number. Thanks everyone for turning out to make this a hot and memorable night.

Relaxed in a Warm Bath

Thanks old friends and new for turning out to give us a warm reception at an unfortunately wet Bath-stock. Lorraine and the staff at the Bath put a great deal of hard work into this 3 day festival for a worthy charity. We wish our friendly hosts well with their new Rock venue-well worth a look if you are in the area.

NEW Recording Complete

At last Highway to Hell, If you Want Blood, TNT, and Kicked in the Teeth are completed. A great mastering job by our mate Dave "Beep Bop Deluxe" Taylor. We're proud of this work. Its got the balance of quality and authentic what we are live. Delving into the sound and techniques of the original recordings was a great way to get into the feel the great band AC/DC. Making it sound effortless is hard work but worth it we hope. Click here to download.

Swinging Arm Last Minute Cancel due to Angus Fling Thing

Sorry for cancellation to Eric and our Birkenhead fans. Angus has survived over a dozen 4000m alpine peaks, Ciarngorm and Nepalese avalanches, numerous motorcycle and car crashes... but could he negotiate a playful cat on the bathroom stairs at 1am Saturday morning???No way.... Rushed to hospital with suspected serious injuries due being flung headfirst cresta run into tastefully restored victorain tiles and iron radiator. The care included a cat scan believe it or not...he had found that already!Still they found nothing between the ears so no harm done and the Angus aerobics had kept the neck in fine form to prevent it breaking.

Roebuck Fest Northwich

Thank you Abbey for inviting us for a second successful and even bigger event. The effort taken to organise this event by everyone is significant and much appreciated by all. Two days of superb music and a worthy charity. We're building quite a lot of fans this area and we welcome any chance to play to you (hope that's not sounding too rude).

The Chuff has Landed

Well here he is, our new singer. He's a Rocker, a Roller, a real out of controller. Some say he's a touch to much but he does have the face of an angel all smiling with sin after all. My big balls (crystal of course) see great t times ahead for us .

Lancaster Show Review
Farewell Mike Photo and You Tube

"Just a quick note to say what a great show the last gig as ACE/DC Mark I was at Lancaster on Friday gone. No doubt you'd be the first to say that technically not everything went right, misplaced mics, broken guitar strings, drummer injuries etc, but who cares, the music speaks for itself and the crowd, as ever, were entertained royally.
Can I just add my appreciation for Mike, what a great front-man, captured the spirit of Bon even without the hair. I wish you all the best for the future.
Looking forward to seeing the new line up in the New Year.
Keep on rockin'
King Cnut"
